Gas > $3/gallon

Gas @ the Hess down the street is now a record $3.09 a gallon for regular. The price hike came yesterday in the aftermath of Katrina.

An article from Bloomberg states that some national oil companies are recieving "loans" from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

The reserve holds about 700 million barrels of crude oil in salt caverns along the Texas and Louisiana coasts. The government also has a 2-million-barrel heating-oil stockpile in the Northeast.
